Housing and Building Community

Having personally experienced the challenges of finding affordable housing on a single income, I am passionate about ensuring that hardworking individuals and students in our community have the opportunity to live where they work or study. Every member of our community deserves access to safe and affordable housing. I believe in fostering diverse and inclusive neighborhoods where families and individuals from all backgrounds can thrive.

Sustainability for the future of Overland Park

Protecting our environment is essential for future generations. I am committed to implementing sustainable practices that reduce our carbon footprint, promote clean energy, and preserve our green spaces. Together, we can make Overland Park a model of environmental stewardship, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable future for all.

Strong Infrastructure for a Strong Community

Our city's infrastructure is the backbone of a thriving community. I will prioritize smart investments in transportation, roads, and public facilities to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of our growing population. I've heard from our residents who are not happy with chip seal. I would like to decrease dependency on chip seal and replacing it with concrete which costs just about the same as asphalt but requires much less maintenance. By improving our infrastructure, we can enhance connectivity, improve safety, and foster economic opportunities.

Fostering Transparency and Accessibility

I believe that an informed community is a strong community, which is why I will make it a priority to provide regular updates on city initiatives, policies, and decisions. I will utilize multiple channels such as town hall meetings, newsletters, social media platforms, and a dedicated website to ensure that constituents have access to accurate and up-to-date information. Additionally, I will actively engage with community members, listening to their concerns, and seeking their input through public forums and open-door policy, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process.

Public Safety and Mental Health

Public safety is of paramount importance in any community, but it is essential to recognize that maintaining safety extends beyond traditional law enforcement measures. By incorporating mental health professionals into the public safety framework, we can significantly enhance overall safety outcomes. Mental health professionals possess the expertise to identify and address underlying issues that contribute to crime or potential harm, enabling early intervention, effective support, and preventive measures. Their presence not only promotes a compassionate and holistic approach to public safety but also helps reduce the strain on law enforcement, allowing them to focus on their core responsibilities while ensuring the well-being of the community as a whole.
