Shawnee Mission Post OP City Council Candidate Forum (Wards 1-3)
In Hawaii they say Aloha. In the Philippines they say Mabuhay! My name is Richard Borlaza and I am running for the Overland Park City Council.
I have always had deep roots in activism and a burning desire to create positive change in our society. For years, I have fought for causes close to my heart, standing up for justice, equality, and the rights of marginalized communities. I proudly proclaimed that I wasn't a politician, but rather an advocate for meaningful change from the outside.
But as I delved deeper into the issues we face in our communities, I realized that change often needs to happen from within the system. It dawned on me that if I truly wanted to create lasting impact, I needed to step up and be the change I wanted to see in the world.
By running for office, I aim to bridge the gap between activism and politics, infusing the corridors of power with the passion and perspective of someone deeply connected to grassroots movements. I want to ensure that the voices of everyday people in Overland Park are heard loud and clear, that their concerns are addressed, and that their vision for a better future are realized.
If you believe in the power of grassroots movements and authentic representation, I kindly request your donation to help fuel our campaign. Every dollar counts and will go directly towards promoting our vision of a more inclusive and prosperous Overland Park. Together, we can create a bright future for all.
